HASAN KALYONCU UNIVERSITY SPECIAL EDUCATION COMMUNITY

Special Education Community organizes participation in seminars, conferences, symposiums organized by the department, faculty and different units of the university in order to enable students of special education departments to experience teamwork and gain professional knowledge, skills and competence, and awareness of special education in the general society and university life by collaborating. was established to create.

It is aimed that the community will participate in orientation and orientation programs every year, prepare for special education national special education student congresses, participate in trainings organized by leading academicians in the field to gain knowledge and skills, and follow the current developments in the field. In addition to the students of the department, it is aimed to organize interdisciplinary studies with other departments of the faculty and university as well as special education department students and academicians in different higher education institutions, to plan social responsibility studies, to lead and / or to be in a supportive role. For this purpose, the community was established in 2016 by Hasan Kalyoncu University Special Education Teaching students.

Aim

  1. Planning / implementing awareness-raising activities in the society about the legal rights of individuals with special needs,
  2. To carry out informative studies on physical and instructional adaptations necessary for the development of independent living skills of individuals who need special education,
  3. To follow scientific developments in the field of special education,
  4. To follow technological developments that are or can be used in the field of special education and to inform the members of the community,
  5. Planning / conducting activities aimed at raising awareness and activities in cooperation with other communities of the university,
  6. Exams, classes, etc. for individuals with special needs. to carry out awareness studies for material and media arrangements to be made in cases,
  7. To do social work by organizing artistic activities and activities with children with special needs.

VISION

The vision of the special education student community is to support the principle of working with the principle of accountability in the profession and the education of special education students by using scientific, evidence-based practices based on the understanding of rights-based education. It advocates improving the professional competencies of special education teacher candidates in order to increase the quality of special education services.

In the community social responsibility studies, it draws attention to the rights of the families of individuals with special needs and places the importance of educational practices based on legal regulations. It cooperates with the school administration and teachers in observation, institutional experience, and teaching practices in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.

It organizes educational adaptations as required by legal rights and awareness activities that support the full participation of individuals with special needs in educational environments. It organizes activities aimed at the families of children with special needs and other members of the society aiming to make them adopt that children with special needs can be independent, productive and active members of the society like other individuals in the society.

MISSION

The Special Education Community adopts evidence-based practices in the field of special education, follows developments and researches in the field, and ensures that students of the department are aware of scientific activities. It acts in cooperation with the students who are members of the community on the principle of full academic, social and cultural participation. Another feature of the community that stands out as a mission is to take an active role in social responsibility, awareness days and weeks together with special education department faculty members / staff, organizing activities, local administrations and non-governmental institutions and organizations, especially Gaziantep Province, and the Ministry of National Education. to plan the announcement, follow-up and participation processes of events such as seminars, symposiums and conferences organized by schools and universities. In addition, it is to create activities that include current developments in the fields that special education teacher candidates need.
